Being a “professional” means that you have unique knowledge about how to educate and care for a group of children who aren’t your own. We know that you’re playing a very big role in helping children get ready for school and for life – equipping them with a strong foundation in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We also know the job you have is often stressful and underpaid. You have daily issues with parents, staff, board members, funders, and licensing agencies– in addition to the children-- who are the primary reason you are in this field in the first place. What you’ll find on our website are resources to make the job easier and give you the respect you deserve. We’re here to help, and we’re also out in the community to make sure that others value the work that you do. The Early Years Institute offers you research-based ideas for educating children and responding to all of the other groups who you’re in contact with daily. There are activity ideas, places to take children on field trips, and the latest research on brain development and how you can maximize a child’s early learning. There are also ways for you to share with other professionals what you have found works -- and ask questions. We’re here for you! |
