Doreen Downs Miller, M.B.A.
Director of Parenting Matters
 
Doreen Downs Miller is a charter member of The Early Years Institute's Board of Directors.
 
Doreen is Director of Parenting Matters and a parent educator specializing in temperament-based parent education programs for parents of infants through teens. She is formerly affiliated with the California Parenting Institute, Santa Rosa, CA, and the New York University Child Study Center, New York, NY, as well as the New York University Steinhardt School of Education as an instructor. She is also an active consultant to several Long Island-based agencies on projects dedicated to strengthening families and improving the quality of care and education for children. In addition to serving on The Early Years Institute Board, Doreen is a Trustee of Wells College, serves on the Advisory Board of the Adelphi Institute for Parenting, is a consultant to and program instructor for the Institute, and is also a member of the Adelphi University President’s Advisory Council.
 
A generous supporter of Adelphi, Doreen has contributed funds to the Alice Brown Early Learning Center and to various other University projects and programs. She earned her M.B.A. at Adelphi University in 1986 and holds an M.A. from New York University in the psychology of parenthood.
