Information
Currently in the development phase, the Shinnecock Early Learning Center Outdoor Classroom project began in August 2008 with a grant from the Southampton Bath and Tennis Club Charity Fund. The funding helped the Nation to host a workshop on the design of an outdoor classroom in the Shinnecock community, and training on how to use it. The goal of the workshop was to engage parents, tribal leaders, elders, community members, child care providers and anyone interested in the review, planning and development of a proposed outdoor classroom. A draft plan was created and presented to the tribe in early October 2008, and final approval was received on October 30, 2009. The proposed classroom space is divided into distinct activity areas. By providing a complete mix of activities, children with a variety of needs and learning styles are engaged.

Notes: The Shinnecock Nation is currently fundraising to obtain the monies needed to complete the child care center and outdoor classroom.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
