Suffolk County Farm and Education Center
Admission: Free. Please sign in at the Visitor Center upon arrival. Tucked away on our 250 acre working historic farm, you will find our newly opened nature explore classroom lined with 50 feet tall arborvitaes on one side and flowering cherry trees on the other. Our classroom boasts a large area to allow for plenty of messy play, a building area, and an interactive nature art area. The herb garden stands adjacent to the 138-year-old hay barn and the sounds of bleating sheep and a braying donkey are never too far off. Come add to the music on our stage by playing our barrel drums, "wrench-o-phone," or gourd maracas, or simply enjoy the tranquility under our 25-year-old weeping mulberry tree. The slide and climbing hill offers many adventures and the gardens are starting to come into bloom. Visitors can pack their own treats and have lunch in our covered arbor house, as appetites are sure to grow with so much activity!
Note: The Nature Explore Classroom is not the only reason to come to the farm! Operating for more than 138 years, the Suffolk County Farm is a working farm and a great place for families to explore farm animals and nature and learn about agriculture and environmental sciences.
